Jos. A. Bank plans to open eight redesigned stores before February as the Tailored Brands banner targets a doubling of its 182-store U.S. fleet to more than 364 locations within ten years. The Peachtree City, Georgia, prototype anchors the rollout. The Atlanta suburb unit introduces a lighter merchandising layout built around walnut, black metal, cognac leather, and clean white surfaces.

"It's a really exciting moment for us because we have been able to reimagine what the store looks like and how we show up for our customer who really cares about the Jos. A. Bank brand," chief operating officer Karla Gray said.

What does the 1905 concept change?

The store reorganizes the shopping path into a "racetrack" arrangement anchored by dress shirts in the center. Suits sit on one side, sorted by fit, then formalwear, then polished-casual assortments. The Traveler dress shirt line, a long-standing volume driver, occupies the central position because the product suits weddings and polished-casual occasions alike.

  • Fittings, consultations, rentals, made-to-measure, and special-event dressing occupy an experience center at the rear
  • The redesign was led by an internal team with an outside architectural firm supporting the rollout
  • The format takes its name from 1905, the founding year of the Baltimore tailor shop opened by Charles Bank and grandson Joseph Albert Bank

How does the banner compare across the Tailored Brands portfolio?

Jos. A. Bank generated $404 million in sales last year against the 637 Men's Wearhouse stores that posted $1.6 billion in volume. Gray called Jos. A. Bank the top-performing Tailored Brands division in fiscal 2025, with comparable-store sales growth of nearly 6 percent. The parent reported total net sales of $2.5 billion, up 2.1 percent year-over-year, with earnings of $217.2 million, a 25.5 percent increase. Jos. A. Bank holds roughly one in three U.S. tailored apparel sales and one in five dress shirts, per the company's July registration statement.

What does the refresh signal about growth strategy?

Gray confirmed Tailored Brands has historically restricted new-store capital to Men's Wearhouse. The Peachtree City opening marks the first deliberate Jos. A. Bank expansion under the post-bankruptcy ownership.

"Tailored Brands has been in the process of opening more stores, but we had limited ourselves up until this point to new Men's Wearhouse," Gray said. "But as we were further contemplating our growth, we recognized that this is an amazing time for us to reignite the Jos. A. Bank brand."

The company has not disclosed a refresh plan for the existing fleet. A handful of legacy Jos. A. Bank units will receive smaller updates in 2026, Gray added.

Where does the IPO filing fit?

Tailored Brands filed paperwork in July to relist on public markets. The company went public originally in 1992, accumulated debt after the 2014 Jos. A. Bank acquisition worth $1.8 billion, and entered bankruptcy in 2020 before emerging under private ownership. Men's Wearhouse stores have already received a more modern palette refresh over the past several years. The K&G Fashion Superstore and Moores Canada divisions remain untouched, leaving two banners pending capital deployment decisions.

The fleet target of more than 364 stores over ten years, paired with eight openings before February, will test whether the 1905 format lifts unit economics enough to justify broader reinvestment across the legacy base.
