Australian cycling apparel brand Maap has deployed Bamboo Rose's TotalPLM platform, consolidating planning, design, product development, sourcing and order management onto a single AI-native system. The deal, confirmed by the vendor this week, targets visibility and speed across a product lifecycle that previously ran on disconnected tools and spreadsheets.
The move is a systems decision with direct sourcing implications: a single data spine from concept to production shortens correction loops between design and factories and reduces the error rate that fragmented workflows impose on order management.
What does TotalPLM replace at Maap?
Bamboo Rose positioned the deployment as the foundation for Maap's next growth phase rather than a back-office refresh.
"By bringing planning, design, product development, sourcing, and order management together on a single AI-native platform, Maap will give its teams a single connected source of truth from concept to production," the company said in a statement.
Erin Height, chief product officer and project champion at Maap, framed the switch in operational terms.
"Moving to TotalPLM gives our teams a single source of truth across the product lifecycle. We gain the visibility, accuracy, and automation needed to support Maap's next phase of growth while giving our teams more time to focus on product innovation," Height said.
Matt Stevens, CEO of Bamboo Rose, argued that scale should not require more manual coordination. "Growth shouldn't require more spreadsheets or disconnected systems," Stevens said. "By bringing planning, design, product development, sourcing and operations together in our AI-native TotalPLM platform, Maap is building a connected foundation that gives every team the visibility they need to move faster and scale with confidence."
Neither party disclosed contract value, implementation timeline or migration scope. Pricing for TotalPLM remains between Bamboo Rose and its clients.
How will brands measure AI-driven discovery?
DressX, the fashion technology company co-founded by Daria Shapovalova and Natalia Modenova, has launched a suite of AI commerce analytics tools designed to close a measurement gap: brands currently cannot track shoppers who research products on AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity before they ever reach a retailer's website.
The suite contains two products:
- AI Visibility — tracks what consumers ask on AI platforms and shows where brands and competitors appear in recommendations.
- AI Revenue Tracker — links that AI-driven discovery to website visits, shopping carts and completed purchases.
The stated goal is to make AI attribution measurable in the same way brands already measure search engines and social media. Ivan Zaparovannyi, chief technology officer, said AI answers now function as a new shelf for product discovery. The analytics suite is available through More Dash Ads and sits alongside DressX's existing Virtual Try-On and AI styling products.
For merchandising and digital commerce teams, the pitch is early-funnel data that traditional web analytics cannot capture. The company has not published benchmark results from the tools, so performance claims remain untested at scale.
Why is The RealReal scaling an AI shopping agent?
The RealReal is expanding "Ask TRR," its AI shopping agent built on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise, to its 45 million members after what the company described as a successful pilot. The resale platform's inventory model drives the case: every item is single-quantity, and new stock arrives daily.
"Traditional keyword search was built for retailers selling many units of the same product," the company said. "At The RealReal, every item is one-of-one: once a piece sells, it's gone for good, and new inventory arrives every day. Shoppers often know what they want—like a silhouette, an era, or a look for an occasion—but lack the exact designer name or keyword to find it."
The company said the right piece can get buried, or sell, before a shopper ever sees it. Ask TRR lets members search by occasion, silhouette or concept rather than exact keywords.
Rati Sahi Levesque, president and CEO, said the platform has changed luxury shopping habits and that "a new generation is embracing resale as a primary way to discover and express their personal style."
Ask TRR enables precision "whether you start with a designer name, an occasion, or simply an idea," Levesque said. "Working with Google, we're meeting customers where they are, making it easier for them to find the one-of-a-kind pieces that are perfect for them."
The company did not disclose pilot conversion metrics or the cost of the Google Cloud partnership. With full rollout now under way across the 45 million-member base, conversion and sell-through data from the agent's first full quarter will indicate whether agentic search can materially lift discovery in single-quantity marketplaces.
